Head to head
Head to head
Two Bristol businesses will be competing head to head when they take part in this year’s Run for the Future.
Paul Mayer will be running alongside colleagues from manufacturers, Braby, on the Downs in Bristol on Sunday 20 September, while his wife Caroline will be lining up for the start of the 5km route with her fellow employees from financial advisers, Brighton Williams.
The challenge between the two companies was made at a match at Frampton Cotterell Rugby Club in April, which was staged to raise money for the Bristol Urological Institute’s Prostate Cancer Appeal.
Mr. Mayer, who’s 46, lost his father derek to the disease in February and is determined to help prevent other men losing their lives in the same way.
The rugby match in his honour between Broad Plain, who derek played for, and Frampton, of which he was chairman, raised £1,500 for the appeal.
Players from both clubs have also pledged to take part in this year’s Run for the Future.
